Così fan Tutti - Slippery Slope

Così fan Tutti - Slippery Slope

ethics, micro violations and normalisation

How dangerous can a small exception be when it stops looking like an exception?

And at what point does tolerated behaviour become a real ethical risk for the organisation? Does it run without apparent friction?

Ethical violations rarely begin with a sensational gesture. More often they arise from micro-behaviours that seem marginal, justifiable or even harmless, but which over time are tolerated, repeated and normalised.

This is where the slippery slopeA gradual drift in which no single episode seems serious enough to trigger an alarm, but in which each step makes the next one easier. Until the boundary between what is acceptable and what is not shifts, almost without one being aware of it.

Information

So do they all is a practical seminar dedicated to the concept of slippery slope and its application in real life and organisational contexts. It does not address ethics as an abstract or merely theoretical issue, but as a concrete dimension of everyday work: choices, dilemmas, pressures, justifications, exceptions and behaviours that, repeated over time, can profoundly alter the decision-making process.

During the meeting, we will start from ethical dilemmas to understand an essential point: there is often no absolute perfect solution, because apparently correct decisions can protect some principles and compromise others. The real question, then, is not just 'what is right', but which criteria to adopt to make the right decision and how to navigate when bias, rationalisations and contextual pressures come into play.

The seminar then delves into the slippery slope paradox in business: how a small initial deviation, if minimised or tolerated, can turn into an accepted routine. From the example of the delay justified with a trivial excuse to the case of the Alpha Project, the course shows how self-deception, psychological adaptation and cumulative effect can lead an esteemed person to progressively exceed limits that, at first, he or she would never have imagined crossing.

Ample space is also dedicated to the soft controls: the value of the code of ethics, its limits when it remains only a formal document, the need for continuous training, discussion of concrete cases and reference figures capable of supporting people when they are faced with ambiguous situations. Because the most dangerous behaviour is not always the most conspicuous: it is often the behaviour that seems normal.

Modules

120 Min and Final Certificate of Participation 2 CPE Ethics + final test

The webinar is designed for professionals, managers and corporate functions who are confronted with sensitive decisions, operational pressures and organisational responsibilities, as well as for those involved in compliance, audit, risk, HR, internal control and corporate culture.

This is not a theoretical lesson as an end in itself, but a meeting constructed to help participants to recognising weak signalsread the mechanisms of rationalisation, train oneself to identify the most insidious micro-behaviours and reflect on which tools can really prevent an ethical drift before it becomes a more serious problem.

Through concrete examples, business cases and discussions, the seminar takes ethics out of the formal language of documents and brings it back to where it really counts: in everyday decisions.
