The course explores interview techniques in depth through an approach that combines communication, behavioural observation and the management of interpersonal relationships.

Participants will learn how to structure an interview, practise active listening, recognise potential inconsistencies in communication, and manage situations characterised by stress, conflict or resistance.

The two-day event will feature case studies and practical exercises, with the aim of developing a greater awareness of one’s own communication skills and improving the effectiveness of one’s interviewing techniques.

Module 1 – BASICS AND PREPARING FOR THE INTERVIEW

You will learn how to structure and prepare an effective interview, taking into account communicative, cultural and legal aspects.

Theory, principles and mechanics of the interview.
Preparation and planning for the meeting.
Cultural and legal considerations.
Awareness of oneself and of the person one is speaking to.

Module 2 – COMMUNICATION AND BEHAVIOURAL ANALYSIS

You will learn to observe and interpret verbal and non-verbal communication, improving your listening skills, concentration and ability to interact.

Communication methods and techniques.
Body language and verbal content.
Managing one’s own bodily responses.
Analysis of communication via webcam.
Active listening, assertive communication, mirroring and calibrating.

Module 3 – ADVANCED INTERVIEW TECHNIQUES

You will gain a deeper understanding of techniques for dealing with complex situations and people, identifying potential inconsistencies and improving your skills.

Influence, persuasion and self-efficacy.
Emotional management, stress management and conflict management.
Selective memory and the identification of grey areas.
A critical analysis of the signs associated with lying.
Assessment of skills and strategies for improvement.
